Versante Pizza for Sale

Versante Pizza is a locally owned pizza restaurant on Bend’s west side is currently for sale. The co-owner, Jon Sargent said this really isn’t his passion and would like to pursue other things instead.

Jon Sargent, co-owner of Versante Pizza on NW Galveston Avenue, said he began looking for buyers for the restaurant about a month ago, citing the time-consuming nature of running a restaurant and his desire to pursue other ventures.

“Restaurant stuff isn’t my background; it isn’t really my passion,” Sargent said Tuesday.

He said his prevailing interest is in restoring old buildings, and that giving up the business would allow him to focus on other restoration projects in Central Oregon.

Sargent and his partner, David Johnson, who lives in the Willamette Valley, founded Versante Pizza in 2009 on S. U.S. Highway 97. The restaurant, which specializes in making pizzas with cornmeal crusts for dine-in, takeout and delivery customers, moved to its current location at 1005 NW Galveston Ave. about four years later, Sargent said.
